Media literacy results presented at Radio Days

The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media presented, on 28 October 2024, the results of the third Media Literacy Open Days at the 28th RAB SERBIA Radio Days at Mt. Zlatibor.

At the panel The Role of Radio in Raising Awareness About Media Literacy of Children and Young People, within the RAB Serbia Radio Days, a representative of the Regulator spoke specifically about the Media with Wide Open Doors campaign, in which public broadcasters and media service providers, including Naxi Radio, participated.

Although children and young people were a target category for the Regulator in the past period, the panel generated a lot of interest among editors, journalists and media workers. One of the conclusions is that strengthening media literacy is also needed for media service providers themselves, given the development of technologies, and especially because media workers increasingly rely on content sharing platforms and artificial intelligence in their daily work.

The panel participants expressed interest in being included in the Regulator’s further activities, in order to raise awareness about the importance of media literacy.

The RAB SERBIA Radio Station Association organised the autumn 28th RAB SERBIA Radio Days in the period from 27 to 29 October 2024 at Mt. Zlatibor. This event was opened by the Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić, and attended by the owners and directors of 170 radio stations from Serbia, and by their colleagues from Hungary, the UK, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.
