Preschoolers in the RTS Morning Show
On the second day of the Media Literacy Open Days event, preschoolers from Belgrade visited Radio Television of Serbia and Naxi Radio.
Over 20 preschoolers participated as guests in the Radio Television of Serbia Morning Show, visited the studio where the central news show is broadcast, learned about all the roles in television and got to know the history of television.
Another group of preschoolers visited the studio of Naxi Radio. The little ones enjoyed talking with well-known radio presenters and had an opportunity to try their hand at the role themselves.
Along with these visits, other groups of preschoolers visited the studios of Radio Television of Vojvodina, Prva TV and TV Panon. As part of this event, a special programme for preschoolers was also organised by the PE Transmitters and Communications at the Avala Tower, where the children were also joined by amateur radio operators of Banjica.
The goal of all these activities is to raise awareness of preschool age children about media literacy by directly familiarising them with the way the media function and work, within the special Media with Wide Open Doors campaign, which is part of the Media Literacy Open Doors.
This event, organised by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media for the third consecutive year, will last from 14 to 18 October. The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media has organised, in cooperation with the Council of Europe, Media Literacy Open Days twice so far, developed a number of materials suitable for working with preschoolers on this topic, and conducted an extensive survey on said topic.
Also since the beginning of this year, the Regulator has held trainings for teachers and expert associates of preschool institutions in Novi Sad, Niš, Kraljevo, Čačak, and Subotica, which were attended by over 200 teachers and expert associates from Serbia.
