Lecture on technological development of electronic media for students of the Faculty of Law

The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media held today a lecture for students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade on the technological development of electronic media in the premises of the Public Enterprise Transmitters and Communications at Avala.

The lecture on traditional and new media, regulatory challenges, the advent of content sharing platforms and the novelties that European legislation brings, was held by Director Rajka Galin Ćertić and Assistant Director for Legal Affairs Saša Simović.

This was also an opportunity for students to get acquainted with the technical aspects of broadcasting RTV programmes in Serbia, with the role of PE TC, as well as with the capacity of the Avala Tower. In this regard, the Director of PE TC Sava Savić and the Technical Director of PE TC Slađan Stanković explained in detail the manner of signal transmission to end users and the specific roles and needs of legal practice and experience in this field.

In the beautiful setting of the Museum of Transmission Technology with a view of Belgrade, students had an opportunity to get acquainted with regulatory issues, the role and competences of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media, as well as the current situation in the media market in Serbia.

This lecture is part of the activities envisaged by the Agreement on Long-Term Cooperation that the Regulator recently signed with the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, for the purpose of organising the Law and Technology Legal Clinic, as part of the Legal Skills course in the fourth year of undergraduate studies.

The Agreement stipulates that, upon the completion of this course, students may also take part in an internship with the Regulator.
